Scottish Women’s Aid

National umbrella organisation for Women’s Aid groups in Scotland.  Their website contains contact details for all Women’s Aid services in Scotland.  They run the National (Scotland) Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline.

Women’s Aid Federation England

The national charity for England working towards ending domestic violence against women and children. Runs the National Domestic Abuse helpline (England and Wales) in conjunction with Refuge which provides accommodation, psychological support and legal services for women and children in England.

Shakti Women’s Aid

Voluntary organisation providing information and support for black/minority ethnic women experiencing domestic abuse.

Refuge

Provides a national helpline, accommodation, psychological support and legal services for women and children in the UK

Rape Crisis Scotland

Offers free and confidential emotional and practical support, information and advocacy to women, all members of the trans community, non-binary people and young people aged 12-18 who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. This includes, rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, childhood sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation.

Open every Tuesday and Wednesday between 12 – 9pm. Information and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, those questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity and their families, friends and supporters.

LGBT Youth Scotland

Provides information and resources, LGBT Youth Scotland is the largest youth and community-based organisation for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Scotland.

LGBT Domestic Abuse Scotland

Providing support and advice to LGBT people and professionals. The LGBT Domestic Abuse project works across Scotland to raise awareness of LGBT people’s experiences of domestic abuse and improve service responses to LGBT people who experience domestic abuse and other forms of gender based violence.

Scottish Transgender Alliance

Provides support and resources, the Scottish Transgender Alliance works to improve gender identity and gender reassignment equality, rights and inclusion in Scotland.

Trans Unite

Find a Transgender Support Group Near You – Access over 100 verified UK Trans support groups and locate one close to you. Detailed profiles offer specific information on the scope of support provided, meeting schedules and contact information.

Galop

Galop is a LGBT+ anti-violence charity. If you’ve experienced hate crime, sexual violence or domestic abuse, Galop can help. They also support lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer people who have had problems with the police or have questions about the criminal justice system.

Alcoholism and Domestic Abuse

This resource gives insight into the connection between alcoholism and domestic abuse.
