Follow On Service
When you leave refuge to move to your new home the follow on worker can support you through this process. This can be practical help which can involve assisting you to apply for a Community Care Grant if you are eligible for this, access furniture, contact utility suppliers, support with budgeting, find out what is available to you in the local area, access legal advice if required, accompany you to meetings, help you look at finding work or find out about further education if this something that would interest you.
The follow on service can also involve providing emotional support which offers one to one support to help you with ongoing issues you may be experiencing in your life and/or get involved in groupwork with other women which can include taking part in health and wellbeing activities.
There is no time limit on you using this service as every individual women’s circumstances differ however this will be reviewed on a regular basis.
